The Senate confirmed Alito by a vote of 58 to 42. “I was honored to cast my vote today on behalf of the people of Georgia to confirm Samuel Alito as Associate Justice of the United States Supreme Court,” Isakson said. “He is a jurist that understands the value and the strength and the power of the constitution of the United States of America. He is a jurist who will rule based on the law, not legislate based on the position.” ###

WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Johnny Isakson (R-Ga.) today praised the Senate’s confirmation of Judge Samuel Alito to be Associate Justice of the Supreme Court. The Senate confirmed Alito by a vote of 58 to 42.
