MARIETTA, Ga. – U.S. Senator Johnny Isakson, R-Ga., chairman of the Senate Committee on Veterans’ Affairs, today released the following statement regarding President Donald Trump’s fiscal year 2018 budget proposal, which includes a 3.6 percent budget increase for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA):

“This budget proposal reaffirms the president’s commitment to investing in our veterans’ healthcare system by increasing mental health funding and helping to ensure veterans have access to timely care in their own communities through the Veterans Choice Program. I look forward to working with the Department of Veterans Affairs as we continue to take steps to provide the best health care possible to our veterans.”
