Committee Assignments

Johnny will continue his service on five key U.S. Senate committees in the 116th Congress. He was selected by his Senate colleagues to serve as chairman of two of those committees – the Senate Committee on Veterans’ Affairs and the Senate Select Committee on Ethics. As a veteran, Johnny’s continued service as chairman of the Senate Committee on Veterans’ Affairs is a priority. He has long been focused on improving the quality and timeliness of care at Department of Veterans Affairs health facilities across the country, including mental health care. Johnny has served on the Ethics Committee since 2007, including as chairman of the committee since 2015 and as vice chair of the committee from 2009 until 2014.

Johnny will also continue to serve as a member of the Senate Committees on Finance, Foreign Relations and Health, Education, Labor and Pensions, where he will continue his work to shape foreign policy as well as health care, tax and fiscal policies that help more Americans succeed. His committee assignments are:
