Isakson Applauds Governor Deal, Georgia on 'Number One' Business Designation for Historic Sixth Consecutive Year

Georgia is first state to hold ranking for six consecutive years under leadership by same governor

ATLANTA – U.S. Senator Johnny Isakson, R-Ga., today issued the following statement supporting the historic announcement by Governor Nathan Deal that Georgia’s business climate has been ranked number one in the nation for the sixth consecutive year by Site Selection magazine.

“Under Governor Nathan Deal’s leadership, our Georgia economy has hit new records, and that makes a difference for Georgia workers and families in every part of the state. Site Selection magazine has now recognized these impressive achievements for the sixth year in a row, designating Georgia as the number one state in the nation in which to do business. I thank Governor Deal, the Georgia Department of Economic Development and our communities statewide that work together to support job creation and greater prosperity for all Georgians.

“We’ve made significant progress to support our state and job creators on the federal level, including providing additional funding for Georgia’s ports, and I’m committed to working together with our state and local leaders to ensure that Washington policies are a catalyst, rather than a barrier, to continued positive opportunities.

“I’m hopeful that our state will continue to pursue the commonsense conservative policies that have helped us achieve this designation yet again.”
